Heavy Duty Diesel Fitters

About the Opportunity – Diesel Fitter:

In order to achieve our vision of becoming a “market leading diversified underground mining services partner”, we are now seeking appropriately qualified and experienced Diesel Fitters to join our team at our modern maintenance facilities located in both Perth and Kalgoorlie. Reporting to the Workshop Foreman, you will be responsible for completing all maintenance activities to a high standard of safety and workmanship aligned to industry best practice.

Your accountabilities and tasks will include:

  • Undertake all tasks in alignment to Pit n Portal’s Group Safety Management Plan and it’s principles
  • Ensure Pit n Portal’s safety standards, policies and procedures are followed at all times
  • Be customer focused prioritising on the required deliverables as an industry leading service provider
  • Mobile plant rebuild, repair and component overhaul
  • Field service commissioning and repairs

 

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Cert III Heavy Diesel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Reliable and approachable
  • Ability to complete field service work and call outs
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug / alcohol test
  • Acceptable NPC record
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Current WA Drivers Licence
  • Eye for detail and quality with a strong safety focus

Preferred experience:

  • Minimum 3 years post trade experience in mobile plant maintenance
  • Cat, Sandvik and Atlas Copco underground mining equipment experience essential

Workshop Manager – Kalgoorlie

The role:

Pit n Portal Plant Services are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced; customer focused Workshop Manager to join our team at our modern maintenance facility located in Kalgoorlie. Reporting to the Plant Services Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the outputs and overall performance of the Kalgoorlie maintenance facility.

 

Your accountabilities will include:

  • Undertake all tasks in alignment to Pit n Portal’s Group Safety Management Plan and it’s principles
  • Ensure Pit n Portal’s safety standards, policies and procedures are followed at all times
  • Be customer focused prioritising on the required deliverables as an industry leading service provider
  • Quality control management
  • Manage department performance and relevant reporting requirements
  • Provide effective leadership, supervision and coaching of team members
  • Manage operating budgets and associated reporting
  • Recruitment and training of new personnel as required

 

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of employee Duty of Care requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Effective decision making, problem solving and negotiating skills
  • Ability to develop, lead and motivate a dynamic team
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Project)
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of PRONTO (or equivalent) maintenance management module
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in mobile plant maintenance or equivalent in a commercial environment
  •  Appropriate Trade or Tertiary qualifications
  • Cert IV Frontline Management
  • Current senior First Aid Certificate
  • Current WA manual Drivers Licence

Group HSET Manager

About the Opportunity – Group HSET Manager:

In order to achieve our vision of becoming a “market leading diversified underground mining services partner”, we are now seeking an appropriately qualified and experienced Group HSET Manager to work in our energetic Leadership Team across Pit N Portal’s operating entities.

Reporting to the Managing Director, this newly created role will allow you to make positive changes and providing strategic direction to the company, whilst providing management support to our HSET teams across WA. This role will allow you to operate at a high level, whilst still giving you the opportunity to ‘roll your sleeves up’ and complete project work to achieve our growth ambitions.

About You:

As an experienced senior industry professional, it is expected that the ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Health, Safety or related disciplines
  • 10+ years’ experience managing diverse teams across several worksites
  • Exposure to Underground Mining, with practical experience viewed favourably
  • Thorough knowledge of the WA Mines Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to influence and make positive changes
  • The ability to develop & maintain ‘Best Practice’ HSET systems for ISO compliance
  • Qualifications or significant exposure to Investigation tools (e.g. ICAM)
  • Well-developed time management and problem solving skills

About the Role:

The role will be based on a Monday-Friday roster in our modern Office located in Maddington, with some limited travel required to our mining contracts across Western Australia.
