Job Summary:

Pit n Portal Plant has an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety, Environment and Training Advisor to join the Assets Team.

Reporting to the Group Manager - Assets the primary responsibilities of this role will be to develop risk management strategies for Assets, training and development of the Assets team and the continual development of a strong safety culture and management of the existing safety systems and activities.

Your Accountabilities & Tasks:

The role will include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Seek to understand the current and future legislation that impacts upon the business
  • Undertake the planning, organisation and execution of external and internal audits of all company locations
  • Participate and actively contribute to the development and maintenance of HSET policies, documents organisational procedures, operational goals and targets related to Occupational Health, Workplace Safety, Environmental Protection and Quality Management
  • Interface effectively and professionally with clients, other contractors, sub-contractors and regulators
  • Manage and maintain HSET management database
  • Conduct HSET performance analysis and monthly reporting
  • Manage and maintain Company Risk Register and provide support and advice to all company personnel in Risk Management methodologies
  • Ensure compliance across site in line with licence conditions, Acts and Regulations
  • Lead the investigation of any incidents that occur on site using the ICAM process
  • Reporting indirectly through to the Group Manager People, Safety & Culture for strategic direction and the  implementation of group safety initiatives
Skills, License, Qualifications & Experience Required:

To be successful in this role you will have a proficient level of experience with HSET compliance, systems and processes within the Mining/Maintenance Sector.

As a minimum, the successful candidate will have a Cert IV in Work, Health and Safety or equivalent, Cert IV in Training and Assessment and have a minimum 5 years’ experience in a HSET Management role.  

The candidate will also possess experience as a Lead Auditor, ICAM Lead Investigator and have excellent written and verbal communication skills along with high computer literacy skills.
